| I am sure that my image is a JPEG file, but it will not upload. I keep getting the "must be file type JPG or JPEG" error? |
To watch our step by step video instruction on this, click here.
Please ensure that there is no dot (.) in the name of the file other than just preceding the "jpg" extension (i.e. "my.picture.jpg" should be "mypicture.jpg").
Secondly, ensure that there are no spaces, hyphens or other punctuation in the name of the file (i.e. "my dog-picture.jpg" should be "mydogpicture.jpg").
Lastly, if you are still having problems, place the file you are trying to upload onto your desktop and upload the file from there. This will ensure that there are no spaces nor punctuation in the folder structure where the file is located.
(Essentially the upload page looks for the first "." in the path of the photo and it must only see "jpg" or "jpeg" after that dot. So if the path to your photo is something like "C:Documents and SettingsJanuary.2008my photo.jpg" it will find the first dot after "January" and then see "2008" and will not allow the upload.)
